The Opportunity
Position Summary:
Under close supervision, and in accordance with established policies, procedures and care plans, performs a variety of routine client care support activities to optimize the functional abilities of residents. Duties may include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), instructing craft classes, assisting with social events, group exercises and games. Responsible for other related duties as required.
Program Summary: Supportive Living Level 4: Offers assisted-living for adults who may need extra support such as 24-hour health monitoring, personal care and medication assistance. SL4 is for individuals who have more complex medical needs that are predictable and safely managed with onsite professional nursing (LPN level) and the direction of a home care case manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduation from Grade 12.
- Current and active Basic Life Support Provider CPR is required.
- PCA, Certificate in leisure activities or equivalent.
- Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Related experience in a hospital or continuing care facility is preferred;
- Geriatric experience is an asset;
- Program specific training/experience is an asset
