The company designs and builds its tooling in-house, giving this person direct access to mold makers, machinists, programmers, and engineering throughout the entire process.

Relocation assistance is available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design injection mold bases and tooling platforms for high-volume production

  • Develop standardized and reusable tooling concepts including mold bases, inserts, and interchangeable cavity systems

  • Create complete mold layouts including gating, cooling, venting, ejection, cores, and cavities

  • Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed tooling drawings in SolidWorks

  • Work directly with the internal toolroom throughout mold design, machining, assembly, and validation

  • Design around hot runner systems and high-volume molding requirements

  • Apply DFM, tolerance analysis, and root cause problem solving to improve tooling performance

  • Support tooling standardization and reuse to reduce lead times and capital investment

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of injection mold design, mold making, or advanced tooling experience

  • Strong understanding of injection mold construction, mold bases, cores, cavities, shutoffs, cooling, venting, and ejection

  • Advanced SolidWorks experience required

  • Ability to design tooling with manufacturability, mold performance, and long-term serviceability in mind

  • Strong understanding of injection molding processes and high-volume production

  • Experience with hot runner systems preferred

  • Experience with modular, standardized, or reusable tooling concepts is a plus, but not required

  • Mastercam experience is a plus

  • Degree preferred, but equivalent mold design or mold making experience will be considered
