Custom Castings Ltd. is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Tool & Die Maker. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain the life of molds, jigs, and fixtures while producing high-quality tools and machined components through the use of CNC and manual equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with advanced technical skills and a passion for precision machining.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate, maintain, and repair tooling and their components to ensure optimal performance.
Program, set up, and operate various CNC and manual equipment.
Implement preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for tooling issues.
Engineer and produce new molds, jigs, and fixtures based on engineering specifications.
Document tooling modifications and repairs accurately for traceability.
Foster positive relationships with supervisors and colleagues to enhance team collaboration.
Maintain an organized and safe workstation in compliance with 5S principles.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and manual machining.
Red Seal certification as a Machinist or Toolmaker (or working towards certification).
Ability to work with CAM software or willingness and ability to learn it.
MasterCAM experience considered an asset.
Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills.
Proficiency with manual lathe, mill, and other shop equipment.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and root cause analysis.
Basic email and MS Office skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Recent graduates with relevant education are encouraged to apply.
