Mercer is hiring a Trade Operations Analyst for our Toronto office. This is a hybrid position that requires a presence in the office for three days a week

The Trade Operations Analyst will manage all aspects of client cash flow management as well as product/client trade order management.  This includes monitoring the workflow of trades from initiation, allocation, approval, execution and settlement.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Investment team, Client implementation team, and Client Custodians.

The Analyst will have direct oversight and full operational responsibility for client accounts that require daily oversight.  This includes reconciliation of a client cash flows, trades and positions.  The Analyst will assist with daily trading and processing.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,600 to $82,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

We will count on you to:

  • Have daily oversight of order management and all aspects of daily trading including cash reconciliation, trade execution and management of outgoing wires;
  • Collaborate with team members to meet service level agreement and escalating when required;
  • Daily monitoring, analysis and recording of client custodian cash positions to ensure that cash requirements are captured;
  • Review changes to client assets daily to ensure that changes to market values and prices are within tolerance;
  • Direct responsibility for providing the operational oversight to accounts
  • Review third party positions and ensuring the appropriate updates have been made to Charles River Investment Management Solutions;
  • Analyze reconciliations of client custodian holdings to third party vendor systems;
  • Review and process custodian invoices and subadvisor invoices;
  • Special projects.

What you need to have: 

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant finance, economics or related discipline;
  • 1+ year experience in asset management with focus on institutional client account support;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong attention to detail;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,600 to $82,000.

Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
