Position Overview:



As a Traffic Control Person, you play an important role in ensuring traffic control management is completed according to applicable regulations, and to ensure everybody on or crossing a job site can do so safely.



What you will be responsible for:



  • Perform basic traffic control set-ups and tear downs while adhering to the MTO Book 7 requirements to ensure safety of all stakeholders impacted by the site (crew members, motorists, pedestrians, etc.)

  • Protect your peers, construction workers, the motoring public, cyclists & pedestrians by regulating traffic flow

  • Stop traffic whenever required by the progress of work or keep traffic moving at reduced speeds to avoid tie-ups and delays

  • Maintain safety awareness at all times and work in compliance with applicable health & safety regulations and policies

What we need from you:



  • Must be available to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 6am - 6pm (Required)

  • G class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (Required)

  • Ability to lift regularly up to 60 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various inclement weather conditions (Required)

  • Have strong verbal and written English communication skills (Required)

  • Vision and hearing abilities that allow to perform all work requirements safely (Required)

  • Previous experience in flagging (Asset)

  • You will be required to provide your own CSA Grade 1 (green label) work boots with a minimum 6-inch cuff and electrical shock resistance (white label with omega symbol)

  • Grace under pressure - Able to calmly troubleshoot issues and collaborate with a diverse group of people

  • Tech savvy - Must have a smartphone that you're comfortable using for work purposes with ability to learn new systems/apps

  • Collaborates - Comfortable working in a team environment

  • Awareness of surroundings - Monitor traffic, construction equipment, and workers for safety purposes
