Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized community-based organization delivering programs and services to normalize sexuality and sexual health across the lifespan. We have been leading the way in the areas of sexuality, healthy relationships, human rights, gender identity, sexual orientation, equality, and consent for over 50 years. Sexual well-being for all is at the core of what we do. We teach, we train, and we advocate to support healthy bodies, healthy relationships, and healthy communities. We provide education, training, and counselling for anyone who needs support related to these topics. We are hiring one experienced facilitator to join our motivated team with a mission to normalize sexual health in Alberta.
Position Overview
The Centre for Sexuality’s Training Centre is focused on creating inclusive and safer environments across sectors. We have provided training to corporations, social service agencies and institutions since 2009. To date, we have trained over 75,000 professionals. We believe developing the knowledge and skills of service providers, assisting them to apply this knowledge on the job, and working to build the capabilities of organizations to sustain staff learning through organizational policy and systems change will result in greater shifts in professional practice, better client care, and ultimately better client outcomes. A Training Centre Facilitator’s primary role is to support adult and group learning, encourage active participation, and manage group dynamics in a way that fosters a positive and productive learning environment. Training Centre Facilitators possess a strong understanding of adult learning theories and practice, along with subject matter expertise in the areas of sexual health, 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion, stigma-reduction, anti-discrimination, and other related topics, delivering content through application of proven and trauma and violence-informed facilitation skills.
