The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has openings for casual call-in Transfer Station Operator – Lead positions (Wallaceburg Transfer Station) in the Public Works division. This casual call-in positions may work 0-24 hours per week.
Job description
The Transfer Station Operator (Lead) is responsible for the entire operation of the site, including the leaf and yard waste component (where applicable), issues receipts for the collection of waste fees and directs ratepayers as to the use of the proper waste and recycling containers on site. This will include the operation of a weigh scale, hydraulic compactor unit, and front-end loader to load and pack waste containers and move large volumes/items on-site (where applicable).

Because this position would be required to travel, a valid Province of Ontario driver's licence with a reliable motor vehicle is necessary.
Background check requirements
Because of the environment this position will be working in, the successful candidate will be required to furnish an original Police Information Search (criminal reference check) prior to commencement of employment.

Benefits
This casual call-in position has an hourly wage of $23.60 to $29.50 and will receive vacation and statutory benefits in accordance with Employment Standards Act.
