Full Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM–11:00 PM Salary: $75,000–$76,000 (based on experience)
Lead Daily Dock Operations — Provide hands‑on supervision, guidance, and support to a small team of 4–5 dock workers and an onsite dispatcher, ensuring freight is loaded, staged, and dispatched accurately and on time.
Coach and Develop Team Members — Train new and existing staff, offer real‑time performance feedback, and foster a positive, safety‑focused work environment.
Support Linehaul Coordination — Work closely with the Line Haul division to ensure trailers are properly loaded, sealed, and ready for scheduled departures.
Maintain Operational Flow — Oversee shift transitions, communicate priorities to the next supervisor, and ensure continuity of operations across teams.
Ensure Regulatory and Safety Compliance — Uphold company policies, DOT regulations, and union work rules while ensuring partner carriers meet contractual safety expectations.
Monitor KPIs and Operational Metrics — Track key performance indicators, identify issues impacting service or cost, and escalate concerns proactively.
Review and Validate Freight Documentation — Support the review and accuracy of freight invoices, bills of lading, and dock paperwork to maintain profitability and proper flow of information.
Collaborate Cross‑Functionally — Partner with internal teams, operational clerks, and leadership to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
TMS Experience: Experience using TruckMate is a plus, but experience with any TMS is preferred
Maintain a Clean and Organized Dock — Ensure equipment, tools, and work areas are maintained and used safely.
Communicate Effectively — Respond to emails, coordinate with internal partners, and maintain strong working relationships with drivers, clerks, and dispatch.
Adapt to a Fast‑Paced Environment — Balance office and dock time throughout the shift; remain proactive and solutions‑oriented.
Support Transition of Newly Acquired Ontario Location — Work with the current supervisor assisting in the transition and integration of the new site.
Education/Experience — Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
LTL & Dock Operations Experience — At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role within a 3PL or LTL environment.
Union Environment Experience Preferred — Ability to communicate effectively with union dock workers; understanding of union work rules is a plus.
Communication Skills — Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external interactions.
Technical Skills — Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to interpret policies, procedures, and agreements.
Prioritization & Multitasking — Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑moving operational setting.
Conflict Resolution — Skilled in navigating sensitive or complex matters with professionalism.
Shift & Environment Readiness — Must be comfortable working 2nd shift in a cold dock environment and balancing personal life with evening hours.
Pay Range:$60,900.00 - $95,200.00
