Job Description - Travailleur/Se Communautaire -Community Worker

This position is reserved for Inuit/JBNQA beneficiary who resides in the community. Translation in Inuktitut will be available shortly

- Personne qui accomplit des tÃ¢ches psychosociales et participe Ã des activitÃ©s de promotion et de prÃ©vention ;

- Veille Ã ce que les clients conservent des liens avec leur culture lorsqu'ils sont loin de chez eux (contes traditionnels, acquisition et prÃ©paration de plats traditionnels, jeux traditionnels, couture et perlage traditionnels, chant de gorge, sculpture sur pierre Ã savon, activitÃ©s sur le territoire, par exemple) ;

- Inviter des confÃ©renciers et des aÃ®nÃ©s Ã donner des conseils aprÃ¨s approbation du gestionnaire ;

- Accompagner les clients lors de rendez -vous mÃ©dicaux ou judiciaires et proposer des traductions si nÃ©cessaire ;

- Travailler en collaboration avec Makivvik, Nunavimmi Ilagit Papatauvinga ou toute autre association inuite.

- Toute autre tÃ¢che connexe.

- Person who performs psychosocial tasks and participates in promotion and prevention activities;

- Ensure clients keep ties with their culture while away from home (e.g. traditional storytelling, acquiring and preparing traditional dishes, traditional games, traditional sewing and beading, throat singing, soapstone carving, local activities);

- Accompany the clients at medical or court appointments and offer translation when needed;

- Works in collaboration with Makivvik, Nunavimmi Ilagit Papatauvinga or any other Inuit associations

- Any other related task.
