Company Description

Kenn Borek Air (KBA) is a diversified worldwide aircraft charter and leasing operation. The Kenn Borek Air Maintenance team is currently seeking an individual to join the Upholstery department in the entry level role of Upholstery Technician. This full time position is based in Calgary, AB working Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. 

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities include such areas as:

  • Remove, fabricate, install, refurbish and modify aircraft interior equipment and furnishings
  • Inspect, repair and maintain aircraft interior, including, but not limited to upholstery, carpet, cabinetry, panels, lighting, and other furnishings
  • Fabricate, using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications, cover and install flat panels and curtains
  • Fabricate various metal parts, fit panels, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, and hatch panels.
  • Work with fabric, vinyl and leather hides, composites and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools and various power tools
  • Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License (Drivers Abstract Required)
  • Proven work experience as an upholsterer is an asset
  • Proficiency in using upholstery hand tools for aircraft interior components
  • Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to interpret design templates for aircraft interior modifications
  • Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Must be able to obtain Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Pass
