At Devonshire, we are dedicated to providing a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for our senior residents. Our on-site retail store offers residents convenient access to everyday items and treats, while also creating an opportunity for meaningful interaction and community building.

Role Summary:

We are seeking friendly and reliable volunteer to assist in the operation of our small retail store. Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing customer service, restocking shelves, and creating a welcoming store environment.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist residents with purchases

• Operate the cash register (training provided)

• Restock shelves and maintain cleanliness of the store

• Help manage inventory and inform staff of low-stock items

• Engage positively with residents, providing a warm and respectful shopping experience

• Follow safety, health, and confidentiality protocols

Qualities we are looking for:

• Friendly, patient, and respectful demeanor

• Comfortable interacting with seniors, including those with dementia or limited mobility

• Dependable and punctual

• Basic math and communication skills

• Previous retail or volunteer experience is an asset but not required
