Reporting to the Foreman, the Water Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a water truck, with the goal of keeping gravel and clay road surfaces at optimum moisture content.
Equipment Operations:
Operate a Water Truck and other equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Proper machine start-up, operation, and shutdown knowledge. Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to the required work area. Fill the truck tank with water. Spray water in designated areas. Monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness. Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of a water truck. Operate other heavy equipment and other construction-related duties as required. Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge of water truck and other road construction equipment operations. Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes, and industry requirements. Understanding of equipment controls and electronics ,
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Qualifications & Experience
High school or equivalent; with experience in related construction activities. Class 5 license; clean abstract. 2–3 years’ experience as a mainline excavator operator is required. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. Note: We promote a safe work environment with a substance abuse testing program.
