Wholistic Wellness Coordinator

Atlohsa Family Healing Services is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to fill the role of a Wholistic Wellness Coordinator. As the Wholistic Wellness Coordinator, you will be part of The Journey Together – Indigenous Mental Health and Wellness Supports Program, working to ensure that cultural knowledge and practices are fluid throughout Atlohsa and accessible to all community members and staff. The program offers a range of personalized and outcome-focused supports to women, men, youth, and children, and includes access to meaningful activities and programs in one-on-one or group settings.

Role and Responsibility

Using a wholistic Indigenous-led approach to principles of patient centered care, and based upon the foundation of best practice, the successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating the program as a one-person team. The Wholistic Wellness Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with traditional knowledge carriers for the benefit of programming and accessibility of services within Atlohsa. They will be responsible for scheduling, booking, and maintaining records of engagements between Knowledge Keepers and participants. The coordinator will need to maintain confidentiality of participants as they access traditional supports through various programs or directly through the Journey Together program. This person will need to carry out cultural activities and/or ceremonies based on their skill, knowledge, and approval of community. The Wholistic Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for the creation and facilitation of new and unique cultural supports throughout Atlohsa programs to meet the individualized and emerging needs of participants in any given area. The successful incumbent will need to be effective in collaborating with all departments throughout Atlohsa to meet departmental needs.

Suitability

•  Carrier of traditional knowledges and ability to share this knowledge according to one’s community practices. 


• The ability to act as Shkabewis is an asset.


• Experience in scheduling of appointments, travel, and ceremony.


• Experience in managing case notes and utilizing data management software.


• Strong ability to work independently and complete tasks with little direction or supervision.


• Ability to establish collaborative relationships within an inter-professional organization.


• Experience in managing a budget and reporting data an asset.


• Effective communication, both written and verbal.


• Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner.


• Demonstrated knowledge, awareness, and understanding of the creation stories, cultures, languages, histories, and healing practices of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Lenape people.


• Current Vulnerable Sector Check required.


• Current G license, with clean driving record required.

EMPLOYMENT TERM: Permanent; full-time
CLOSING DATE: April 25, 2025
REMUNERATION: 

• $32.70/hour
