Job Description :


The Senior Technical Analyst will support a Windows Server modernization initiative focused on legacy operating systems, server upgrades, application compatibility assessments, and infrastructure lifecycle management. The role involves acting as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and support groups to facilitate server and application migration activities.

Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a comprehensive inventory of servers, applications, and databases; coordinating with application owners and vendors to determine supportability and compatibility with supported operating systems; facilitating stakeholder meetings to validate technical and business requirements; developing migration schedules and deployment groups; supporting migration planning and runbook creation; monitoring project risks and impacts; coordinating end-to-end testing activities; and ensuring successful completion of migration and decommissioning efforts.

The successful candidate will possess strong business analysis and stakeholder management skills, experience working with Windows Server and SQL Server environments, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex technical environment. Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience with infrastructure migration projects, change management practices, and enterprise technology environments is highly desirable. The role requires collaboration across technical and business teams to ensure successful planning, execution, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.






Requirements




  • Act as liaison between Business operations, vendor support team, PHSA teams and Kyndryl teams

  • Create and maintain an application/database repository of all applications/databases within all servers in scope, using a defined process and system defined by the project.

  • Working with HI Support teams, contact vendors to obtain application details to determine supportability and compatibility with Windows or supported platform.

  • Schedule meeting with stake holders to Analyze and Validate the repository

  • Create migration groups based on schedule provided by business operation teams   

  • Discuss and review strategy for migration of each Server/Application

  • Support in creation of run book for each Server/Application migration

  • Monitor potential impacts as part of Server/Application migration plan   

  • Co-ordinate and assist in creating E2E test cases for application migration and sign-off with Business operations teams

  • This is a full-time role for a duration of approximately 12 months 

  • Business engagement and analysis experience required

  • Experience with SQL Server and Windows Server admin, provisioning and migration preferred

  • Experience with Clinical Information Systems is an asset, as is work experience within British Columbia’s health care system particularly FHA and PHSA

  • Experience facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.

  • Experienced in thoroughly integrating change management and process improvement principles into own project management style.

  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).

  • Knowledge of PM tools, such as Microsoft Project and Portfolio Server.

  • Great analytical skills, excellent people skills, strong written and oral communication skills,excellent organizational skills, and a demonstrated capability for handling sensitive situations.
