IWOO is a non-profit, charitable organization which believes through the empowerment of women, families and the most vulnerable. we are able to build better communities and positively contribute to the overall health of our society. Since 1989. We have developed and delivered programs and services that have provided meaningful engagement, dialogue and support for seniors, newcomers, women, youth and many others. IWOO continues to build capacity as we serve more in our community. We are guided by the Human Rights Code of Ontario and abide by strict anti-oppression and anti-harassment policies.
Who we are looking for:
The eligible candidate must be between the age of 15 and 30 years old.
Must be legally permitted to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the immigration Refugee Protection Act.
The eligible candidate will work for 8 weeks, 35 hours per week from July 2nd, 2024.
The wage is $16.55 per hour.
The candidate will report into the Office Manager. The women program coordinator helps in the coordination and execution of events including meetings, regular IWOO programs.
Requirements:
Experience working with women from diverse backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and linguistic skills.
Understanding of issues related to Violence Against Women, intersectionality, and gender-based violence.
Knowledge of systemic barriers faced by women experiencing violence.
Non-judgmental approach and strong advocacy skills when working with women.
Ability to use software and web applications for data management, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective collaboration skills to work within a team environment, including with staff, board members, and volunteers.
Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Self-motivated and self-directed with a positive attitude.
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Fluency in both English and Farsi.
Available to work in eventing time on weekday and weekend if necessary.
The candidate will report into the Office Manager. The Administrator Assistant helps in the coordination and execution of events including meetings, regular IWOO programs.
Duties include but not limited to:
Coordinate and assist in the execution of women's programs, including workshops, meetings, and events.
Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program participants and activities.
Assist in the creation and distribution of program materials such as brochures, informational documents, and social media content.
Provide logistical support for program events, including scheduling, confirming appointments, and managing event details.
Providing support and assistance for a successful delivery of workshops and making report.
Assist in replying to emails and phone calls promptly and professionally.
Support the creation of brochures and informational documents.
Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings, and deadlines efficiently.
Interact with walk-in clients and phone clients, providing information about IWOO's services, scheduling appointments, and addressing inquiries in a professional and helpful manner.
