Job Posting Description:

This is an onsite role #LI-Onsite

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workplace Investigations (WI), you will lead complex workplace investigations, conflict resolution, culture assessments and restoration processes. The role ensures compliance with applicable legislation, including the Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, while supporting a respectful, inclusive, and compliant workplace environment.

You will play a key role within the Workplace Investigations Centre of Excellence (WI CoE), providing independent, impartial support across the organization and contributing to continuous improvement of complaints management and resolution practices.

About the Role

  • Conduct interviews, gather and assess evidence, and document findings in accordance with best practices
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive investigation reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on investigation processes and complaint resolution
  • Support early resolution, mediation, and workplace restoration efforts, where appropriate
  • Advise internal stakeholders on managing workplace complaints and investigation processes
  • Provide subject matter expertise to HR partners on early resolution and mediation strategies
  • Develop tools, resources, and frameworks to strengthen investigation practices and consistency
  • Lead the engagement of external investigators through the Vendor of Record (VOR) process
  • Act as an escalation point within the HR model, providing expert guidance on complex matters
  • Deliver training and awareness initiatives to support leaders and HR partners
  • Identify trends in workplace complaints and develop strategies to address recurring issues
  • Contribute to and champion WI CoE priorities, including complaints management, accountability frameworks, and training initiatives
  • Analyze metrics and reporting to inform business decisions and continuous improvement
  • Recommend enhancements to investigation processes, policies, and practices
  • Build effective partnerships with internal stakeholders to strengthen credibility and trust
  • Design and deliver tools, templates, and communications to support business leaders and HR
  • Develop training materials and job aids to improve consistency and accountability
  • Monitor and track investigation outcomes, recommendations, and organizational trends
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, collective agreements, and LCBO policies
  • Maintain accurate and confidential investigation records and documentation
  • Prepare reports and presentations on trends, findings, and outcomes

About You

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline
  • Specialized training in workplace investigations, human rights, or alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace investigations, human resources, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing complex human rights and workplace complaints
  • Experience working in a unionized or broader public sector environment is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of human rights legislation, including the Ontario Human Rights Code, OHSA, and AODA
  • Understanding of administrative law, corporate governance, and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with collective agreements and investigation best practices
  • Demonstrated professionalism, tact, and sound judgment in sensitive situations
  • High ethical standards and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex environment
