Our values
We put our people first by focusing on their well-being and success. We embrace a failing forward mindset and understand that taking risks is essential for growth and innovation. We value collaboration across diverse groups to solve challenges today and to anticipate what’s next. Collaboration fuels our creativity, allowing us to explore new ways to achieve our goals. We want every interaction to be positive and strive to make people smile. You’ll see this in our personal connections and our casual, friendly approach. We’re a team that wants to make a difference by delivering relevant, timely, and engaging programs that meet the evolving needs of our community and partners.
Organization overview
Are you passionate about making a difference? Join the SafeCare BC team and have a positive impact on healthcare workers across the province. We are a non-profit health and safety association for BC’s continuing care sector. Our mandate is to reduce injuries among care workers and leaders by providing education, training, and resources across the province.
Working at SafeCare BC is suited for someone who is motivated by making a meaningful impact for health care workers by implementing evidence-based resources through the creation of practical, people-centred OHS services. As a small organization, we often adapt quickly to meet the changing needs of our members, which requires flexibility, curiosity, and a willingness to contribute in different ways.
Position Overview
Reporting to the OHS Services Department, the OHS Services Program Coordinator role will primarily support the development and implementation of psychological health and safety initiatives through data management, reporting, resource development, project coordination and administrative support.
Working closely with our subject matter expert and staff, the Coordinator helps transform information, evidence, and data into practical resources, reports, and tools that educate and support our members to create safer and heathier workplaces.
This is a newly created position that offers a unique opportunity to help shape the role while also providing opportunity to develop knowledge and skills. While previous knowledge of occupational health and safety and/or psychological health and safety is considered an asset, a strong interest in learning and contributing to this work is equally important.
Currently, this is part-time role (0.6 FTE / 3 days a week) with potential for this role to expand to full-time in the future.
Why this role matters
Continuing care is one of the most physically and psychologically demanding sectors in healthcare. This role directly contributes to reducing workplace injuries, strengthening safety culture, and improving day-to-day working conditions for thousands of care workers across BC.
