Job Description - Analyst, Inventory

Job Summary In the role of Inventory Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the process of the annual physical counts of more than 1500 stores and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the organization's inventory records. Key Accountabilities Coordinate and manage the physical inventory count schedule for over 1,500 stores across Canada. Prepare key reports on inventory count performance measures and perform reconciliations for inventory count results. Participate in the financial period closing (journal entry, reconciliation, and analysis of general ledger accounts). Prepare month end journal entries relating to inventory provisions and adjustments. Complete month-end GL account analysis and reconciliations within the month end deadlines Support with preparation of the monthly, quarterly inventory reporting schedules and presentations used to provide insight on inventory levels, key cost measures, etc. Ensure inventory month-end controls are performed are effective and completed on time. Responsible for responding timely and clearly to questions from store district managers, on questions relating to the physical counts. Analyze, research the root cause, gather all the necessary data from multiple sources and propose solutions of complex inventory adjustment in collaboration with various departments (replenishment, account payables, warehouses, etc.). Execute all different types of inventory adjustments such as store transfers, write-offs, physical count adjustments, etc. Prepare key reports and analysis inventory losses by stores, categories, and products. Participate in various projects/analysis to optimize inventory processes and controls through automation and identify opportunities to reduce the shrinks or costs. Retrieve daily reports from the server. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in administration with specialization in finance or accounting. Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in a retail environment with a technical role in inventory and other financials cycles. Strong working knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, IFS, Pivot table…) Knowledge of SAP, an asset. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with other teams. Show initiative, enthusiasm and have attention to detail. Analytical mindset and ability to solve problems. Comfortable and able to grow in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities and demands. Fluency in English and French (written and oral). We thank all interested applicants.
