Job Description - Associate Merchandise Planner, Strategic Sales

About this team

As a member of the product team, the Global Planning team is responsible for ensuring financial success of the company. They work closely with Merchants to understand new product trends and regional/climate selling, size trends, and logistics as well as members of the Retail and Operations teams to understand and respond business product needs. The team monitors the business on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, understanding changes in trend and reacting to the business to maximize sales and mitigate risk. The priority is to understand and protect the guest experience, followed by delivering profitable sales growth (comp and GM$s).

A day in the life:

  • Manage initial allocation and replenishment out of the Distribution Center, pre- allocations and other potential receipt methods in conjunction with the strategy
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of key financial reporting tools, along with ad-hoc analysis to drive business results.
  • Develop report templates and data analysis tools to support business analytics. Drive weekly reporting and data validation within SLA. Ensure data integrity of all financial information including identification of variances.
  • Create and manage sales and inventory projections for key in-stock items 
  • Learn beginning-to-end planning and take on additional responsibilities with the goal of independently owning category plans

Qualifications:

  • Four year college degree or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years proven experience with data analysis
  • Previous experience with merchandise and planning systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel is required.

Compensation and Benefits Package

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $66,000-$86,600 annually ; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
