Job Description - Canadian Sales Manager

Description

Operations:

  • Provide guidance and support in the recruitment of new members.
  • Ensure increased purchases by banner members nationwide.
  • Foster effective relationships with the banner members, suppliers, and various departments within the organization.
  • Set, monitor, and evaluate performance goals for members and corporations.

Marketing:

  • Oversee all marketing activities, including flyers, online marketing, and the maintenance of the website.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to promote product lines through flyers.
  • Continuously explore new marketing strategies to enhance the banner's visibility.
  • Optimize existing marketing strategies for maximum benefit.

Procurement:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with floor covering suppliers and renew agreements as necessary.
  • Ensure members support group-preferred suppliers and core product programs.
  • Negotiate new product launches and pricing strategies.
  • Coordinate annual SURFACES trip for meetings with suppliers and future product launches.
  • Maximize benefits of supplier relationships.

Periodic Reports:

  • Ensure accuracy and distribution of monthly financial statements, sales and purchase reports, and activity reports to the COO.

Conventions and Meetings:

  • Chair the annual convention for the membership.
  • Conduct periodic meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of retail program management experience in the Floor Covering Industry.
  • University education in marketing, merchandising, or related fields.
  • Experience managing structured networks.
  • Strong understanding of financial terms.
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken; French communication skills an asset.
  • Strong presentation abilities.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
