For over 20 years, our client has been a leading provider of artisanal products to retail and food service customers in Canada. As part of their commitment to excellence, and to support recent growth, they are seeking a dynamic individual to lead their Direct Store Delivery (DSD) business unit. As the Director of DSD, you will be responsible for the overall sales the DSD business, as well as the operations that support the DSD customer delivery model. Reporting directly to the President, you will oversee all aspects of DSD operations, including DSD product warehousing, order building, Guaranteed Sale program administration, delivery, and field sales. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring seamless coordination and integration of the DSD operations and other departments including production. This is a full time role based in either Vancouver or Victoria, BC, and will require some travel. The role offers a competitive salary ($140-160k base target based on skills and experience), bonus, car allowance, benefits, RRSP, as well as opportunities for professional development. Key Responsibilities:

Leading Direct Store Delivery Program

• Implement and optimize sales and distribution systems that support 200+ DSD locations across Vancouver Island and the Vancouver Mainland
• Ensure the efficient operation of DSD routes and delivery schedules, including Guaranteed Sale program, while maintaining excellent service levels to customer accounts

Team Leadership and Development

• Provide leadership and direction to the DSD operations team, including the DSD Sales Manager and Warehouse Operations Manager, along with their respective teams
• Collaborate closely with the DSD Sales Manager and Warehouse Operations Manager to ensure alignment between sales, distribution, and warehouse operations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with other departments, including Sales, Planning and Development, and Production, to ensure alignment and achievement of business objectives
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Customer Service Excellence

• Ensure a superior level of customer service and satisfaction within the DSD customer portfolio
• Address DSD customer inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively, maintaining positive relationships with all customer accounts

Key Qualifications:

• Proven experience in sales and operations management, with a focus on Direct Store Delivery
• Experience in Guaranteed Sale program administration and fresh food distribution seen as an asset
• Experience managing a team of sales reps and customer service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business growth
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets
