Description Reporting to the Patrol Manager, the primary responsibility of the Dispatcher is to monitor radio traffic and phone communications at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park. This role involves maintaining radio support for on-hill operations, providing logistical support, assisting with record-keeping within the patrol department, and supporting day-to-day patrol operations. The
minimum level of training required is a valid Advanced First Aid (AFA) certificate. Training will be mandatory and will be communicated with notice, where you will learn WinSport's medical, technical and organizational protocols. This position is temporary with full time hours available, working a rotation of 4 days on and 4 days off. Shifts will fall within operational hours, ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day. Creative What You Will Be Doing - Monitor radio transmissions from all on-hill departments, including security
- Record relevant information and timestamps
- Act as primary point of contact during emergency situations or health & safety concerns
- Assist in completing necessary forms associated with accidents
- Adhere to emergency protocols outlined in the emergency response plan
- Assist in overseeing incident investigations on the hill, ensuring all critical information collection and summarization is complete
- Collaborate and support all departments to ensure seamless daily operations
- Assist operations with daily administrative tasks
- Uphold and promote WinSport’s safety culture, mission, and values
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and statutory holidays
What You Bring - You are over the age of 18
- Valid Advanced First Aid Certification (minimum training required)
- Advanced computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service capabilities
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and multitask effectively under pressure while remaining calm
- Capacity to work independently to fulfill assigned tasks
- Incident Command System training is considered an asset
- Familiarity with radio protocols and etiquette is considered an asset
- Previous experience with the general operation of WinSport or similar facilities is an asset
You Will Be - In an office environment
- Working an approximate 40 hour work week
- Working a rotation of 4 days on and 4 days off
- Working a shift that falls within operational hours, shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day
