Job Description - Inventory Coordinator

Scandinavian Building Services has been a Canadian leader in retail and commercial cleaning for the last 60 years. Starting as a small family owned and operated business in Edmonton Alberta in 1982 to offering full service janitorial and building maintenance across Canada today. As we continue to grow we are looking to add an  Inventory Coordinator in our Edmonton head office to the Scandi Family! Also known internally as our Shipper Receiver, Asset Controller. This is a full time in office role at our Edmonton office hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm.

What your day to day will look like:

This roles will vary with some days being spent mostly in warehouse, other mostly in office, and some being a 50/50 split. 

  • Warehouse ; coordinate and complete shipping and receiving for Scandi warehouses across Canada including implementing processes and best practices. Oversee shipping, receiving, material handling, accuracy , cost reduction, and shipping methods and freight costs.
  • Equipment;  Manage the equipment tracker, coordinate yearly certifications of warehouse equipment, and servicing as needed.
  • Inventory;  Complete equipment inventory counts, identify and troubleshoot inventory errors, forecast inventory requirements and control supply inventory.
  • Liaison;  Respond to all inquiries on status of deliveries, coordinate trucks loading and unloading, and work with external auditors

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Must have completed secondary education in supply chain management or relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of inventory and asset management
  • Comprehensive knowledge on all standard warehouse equipment including forklifts, and pallet jacks
  • Excellent organization and communication you will be the main hub between various departments
  • On the ball personality ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
