OPERATIONS TEAM LEADER

The Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity within our mill for an  Operations Team Leader located in Saint John, New Brunswick.

As a member of our dynamic team, you will have an opportunity to dive in and experience work in the Pulp and Paper industry. Some of the exciting tasks you will be asked to perform are:

• Responsibility for day-to-day operation of the Thermal Mechanical Pulping Department and supervision of unionized employees 
• Leadership in safety and environmental awareness
• Coordination of day-to-day operations of wood chip supply, steam production, and maintaining pulp supply to the paper machines
• Work with various departments throughout the mill to ensure production and quality targets are met
• Administration of the collective agreement(s), input and approval of daily time entries, and identification of areas for improvement within your area(s) of responsibility.
• Supporting the development of an engaged workforce with a focus on continuous improvement

Y ou Have:

• Education Required: Bachelor's Degree or 2-year completed diploma in a related field 
• Pulp & Paper Industry related experience is an asset
• Supervisory experience in an industrial environment is an asset
• Familiar with computerized operations and administrative systems
• Shift experience working in a 24/7 operation
• Willing to work shift work in a safety conscious, fast paced manufacturing plant
