The position
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Associate plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices within our organization. Responsibilities will span document control, data management, and laboratory support. The QA Associate has meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of quality system, and a commitment to maintain product integrity. This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our Canmore, Alberta workshop working Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
What you'll be doing
- Ensure documents are accurately created, updated, and maintained according to established standards and procedures
- Maintain records in a manner that align with industry standards and best practices
- Prepare, review, revise, and archive Quality Assurance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Manage change request, deviation, out-of-specification, non-conforming material, and quality investigation reports
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency in QMS records; organize and maintain quality-related data
- Assign and track batch records for production
- Maintain the retention library, packaging, and label databases
- Assist in handling customer complaints and product recalls
- Assist in laboratory testing, including raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
- Support QC activities as needed during production
- Other duties as assigned
Does this sound like you?
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using computers, including word processing software, spreadsheets, and databases
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Background in administration or a science-related field (biology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals) is considered an asset
- A strong knowledge of quality systems, as well as familiarity with regulations (such as those from the FDA and Health Canada), is an asset
- Prior experience in a QA role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or cosmetic industry is an asset
