YOUR ROLE Reporting to the Vice-President of eCommerce & Commercial Marketing, the eCommerce Director, will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction and growth of our ALDO NA online retail channel. This leadership position will be responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and optimization of our e-commerce strategies across all digital channels, to enhance the customer experience and drive revenue. The ideal candidate is a born leader and strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in e-commerce leadership roles, a deep understanding of industry trends, and a customer-obsessed thinker with a passion for delivering exceptional online shopping experiences. Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and oversee a strong seasonal digital calendar in collaboration with Buying, Marketing, and Planning to enhance web traffic and conversion.
  • Ensure alignment and consistent execution of brand commercial plans and product storytelling across all digital channels.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of email and SMS marketing activities to ensure steady implementation, achieve the best possible outcomes and drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Responsible for the entirety of the onsite experience, ensuring all promotions, products and content is added to the site when required.
Digital Experience & Optimization:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive e-commerce strategies aligned with overall business objectives and drive digital growth.
  • Lead and oversee all new website and email features and customer journey enhancements based on analytical insights and A/B testing.
  • Implement strategies to improve key metrics such as conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Consumer Analytics and User Experience teams to develop strong segmentation strategies across customer touchpoints.
  • Partner with Technology & User Experience teams to oversee ecommerce platform management and optimization, focusing on crafting a seamless and engaging shopping experience that prioritizes discovery, conversion, and loyalty.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in user experience, eCommerce technologies, CRM, and email marketing to ensure our strategies remain cutting-edge.
Performance & Digital Analytics:
  • Achieve digital traffic targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, email, and site performance.
  • Lead in-season business management by closely monitoring and analyzing sales performance and digital analytics, identifying opportunities to improve the online customer journeys and generate revenue.
  • Analyze, synthesize, and present data in a way that is actionable for project stakeholders and executives.
People & Team Leadership:
  • Build and develop a highly productive, engaged, and agile ecommerce team that is customer-centric, and data driven.
  • Work in a consultative manner with a cross-functional set of teams to ensure the correct desired digital experience is delivered on time and on brand.
  • Encourage a high level of trust and transparency across all levels and functions.
DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in Digital Marketing and/or eCommerce, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Proven track record of driving e-commerce growth and achieving revenue targets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously to maintain teamwork and optimal project flow.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills - strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce technology, platforms, and industry best practises.
