Job Description - Senior Manager, Enterprise Marketing

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Marketing ensures the success of the Marketing Team globally, with a focus on Canada, by driving the strategy for long-term and product-agnostic projects that advance the Scotiabank brand and business strategy. The Senior Manager will deliver thoughtful strategic recommendations and / or executional tasks as assigned for various groups across the Enterprise. This role is consultative in nature and is meant to facilitate foundational elements for the business and advance Scotia as both a force for growth and a force for good.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Lead and drive a customer-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Monitor consumer sentiment, market conditions, competitive activity, and consumer insight reports to deliver a continuous stream of actionable insights from reliable sources
  • Coordinate with Business partners (including Comms, HR and others), define marketing objectives to set and refine annual and quarterly marketing plans
  • Develop and execute medium-to-high complexity strategies and marketing campaigns as well as acts as project lead and / or program manager in delivering work packages
  • Work effectively in grey space, putting structure around ambiguous tasks that have often not been completed before
  • Develop strategies that differentiate Scotiabank from its competitive set and builds trust with stakeholder groups (internal and external). Re-enforce our core purpose for every future
  • Contribute to plans and briefs a deep understanding of Bank-wide and business partner needs, ensuring full buy-in (agreement) and participation of multiple business, channel, and marketing partners in a highly matrixed environment
  • Develop presentations and materials for senior leaders and other teams to highlight strategic direction and gain buy-in. Leverage relationships and builds an appropriate network to complete work. Ensures full alignment across groups regularly in strategy development and execution
  • Partner effectively with other areas of Marketing (Brand Management, GBCI, Wealth Marketing, Customer Journey Management, etc.), Business Lines (including Comms and HR), Channel Teams (Branch, CCC, Digital), Retail Customer Insights and Analytics, Customer Experience, Legal and Compliance teams and others, to plan and execute Bank-wide action plans and marketing programs
  • Ensure effective prioritization and provides line of sight to overall adjacent team capacity for key execution partners and sets individual program workback schedules
  • Responsible for monitoring spend while providing insight on budget management and coordination with broader Enterprise Marketing team and partners for budget revisions
  • Lead and/or contributes to development and deployment of creative assets, agnostic of media channel and across all touchpoints, acting as main point of contact for internal partners and creative and media agencies
  • Develop details post-campaign (or activity) reports that summarize results and highlight key wins and opportunities based on overall process, development and performance of campaigns
  • Champion proper usage of the Scotiabank brand, in full compliance with global brand guidelines and Scotiabank’s visual identity continuum
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Scotiabank’s values: accountability, passion, integrity and respect. Delivers results in accordance to Scotiabank behavioural competencies. Creates an inclusive team culture and an environment where team members hear, share, and appreciate diverse perspectives
  • Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates and models the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team

  • 5-8 years of experience in a similar role
