Job Description - Event Sales and Coordination Manager

Event Sales and Coordination Manager Location Toronto, ON :

SPIN Toronto is a 12,000-square-foot 'ping pong social club' located in the heart of Downtown Toronto. We have 12 ping pong tables spread out over 2 main rooms and a semi-private lounge. We also have 2 full-service bars, 2 DJ booths, and an extensive catering menu with an elevated-street-style fare. SPIN welcomes a wide variety of clientele and hosts events, group bookings, plus walk-ins of all sizes. The kitchen at SPIN serves an innovative take on classic fare. The menu is fun, approachable and familiar while offering room for creative freedom in its design. If we can make it in-house, we do!

Summary

As a SPIN Event Sales Manager, you not only sell the experience, you seek to improve upon it—consistently. What does that mean? You do more than just turn inquiries into booked events (although that will be critical to your success). You work your phone, email and social network aggressively to close inquiries. You help refine and define the SPiN experience by conducting site visits, entertaining potential clients, and coordinating with our Operations Team to ensure our events are executed with world-class precision. Essential Functions

  • Respond to all inquiries, transforming those inquiries into booked events (this one's a given, but we're mentioning it anyway—it's that important).
  • Bring the experience to life. How? By speaking with ease and confidence on the features and benefits of SPIN's unique venue features and event packages.
  • Monthly Sales Team Goals—in short, you meet them. (Better yet—you exceed them… wildly.)
  • You're hungry and “hands-on”—and with the Director of Operations, you seek out and identify opportunities for proactive account management.
  • You want to be more than a “closer”—and welcome the chance to work with your clients to plan, coordinate, and ensure that your booked events are world-class experiences!
  • You won't stop when the party's over; instead, you cultivate client relationships both while planning and well after (because retention business can be powerfully lucrative).

Qualifications

  • Experience—at least 2 years in an Event Sales role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (to sell the experience, you have to be able to communicate it—effectively)
  • An ability to own and resolve problems (trouble-shooters—we're looking for you)
  • “It's in the details”—for you, it's not just a phrase, it's a way of being
  • Hospitality experience—great if you have it (not a deal-breaker if you don't)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and word-processing applications
  • Experience in working with booking software platforms such as Seven Rooms and Tripleseat - a BONUS but not required

Compensation - Base salary + Commission

Job Type: Full-time
