Our client operates 14 seed orchards and 28 nurseries across Canada and the US, producing 630 million forest seedlings annually. Since their start in 1988, they have grown to become North America’s leading provider of premium-quality container and bare root seedlings.

We are searching for the best of the best of forestry or nursery experienced professionals who are excited by the challenge and reward of becoming a full-time, permanent Territory Manager to provide outstanding support and service to ensure customers have the best possible experience while also leading all commercial aspects within the Northern BC region.

This individual will play a leading role in ensuring that the organization effectively achieves superior customer service expectations while meeting the business targets within the Northern BC forest seedling markets. This will be accomplished by close customer attention focused upon quality of product and exceptional service in addition to maintaining expert knowledge and forecast acumen of the market and industry, successfully fulfilling all commercial efforts and objectives to all prospective forest seedling customers in the market and by leading the coordination and execution of all customer expectations and requirements with Production personnel, Contract and Sales Administrators, and internal information systems.

This position can be done on-site or hybrid from one of the nurseries located in Prince George, Smithers or Quesnel.

  • To work seamlessly with Operations ensuring high quality product solutions to specification and exceptional service execution.
  • To deliver >50% market share in every region by earning and retaining our customer’s confidence in our products and services.
  • To endorse and encourage innovation and continuous improvement including new product solutions, development, and trials.
  • To maximize margin earned by using data to generate information to support product, service, location, and price decisions.
  • To proactively track demand and provide confident forecasts to support business and capex decisions that create value.
  • To deliver everything else that makes us great: Safety first, commercial action plans with targets, customer engagement events with purpose, confident curiosity for advancement, goal oriented and results/success. driven, collaborate to leverage collective strengths but do not fear effective autonomy when called for.

Qualifications

Desired Experience & Skills

  • Passion, purpose, perseverance supporting the resolve to create value and be the best of the best.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably with a bachelor’s degree in Forestry or in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-year experience in forestry, nursery management, or territory sales management supporting forestry customers.
  • Strong forestry, silviculture and forest seedling product and/or cultivation knowledge.
  • Knowledge of and a network within the Northern BC Region.
  • Valid Driver’s License, vehicle, and a clean abstract with the ability to travel within assigned territory 25% – 40% of the time.
  • Proven track record of building customer relationships that yield sustained business growth.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Diligent and self-motivated.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skill proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, Outlook).
  • Experience operating with a high level of confidentiality and adherence to corporate compliance, reporting, and company policies.
  • A forward thinking, mature and professional nature.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Current RPF or RFT designation.
