Job Summary

Are you looking for an exciting new project opportunity?  This position will support definition, procurement and implementation of Parking Permits technology solution needs.

 

The IT Business Analyst will provide and deliver; problem and solution analysis, functional and technical requirements, technical specifications, integrated process and system flow mapping, quality assurance testing and training, technical issue and resolution tracking, support of integrated release management, transition to operations, and analysis of future components, moving projects to implementation all in accordance with recognized best practices (BABOK, PMBOK, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Support and lead solution deliverables from idea inception to project closure including go-live operational readiness in accordance with recognized best practices (BABOK, PMBOK, and PMSO) and project methodologies (eg. Agile, Waterfall methodologies)
• Collaborate with project sponsors, business users, subject matter experts, IT technical professionals and vendors.  Facilitate meetings, lead discussions, and deliver presentations, reports, research and recommendations to a diverse group consisting of executives, managers, IT teams, business clients, and external business partners.
• Gather and analyze a wide range of requirements and translate business and solution needs into detailed documented functional and technical designs and specifications. 
• Develop integrated process and system flows by determining best solutions, researching options, advising on changes to business processes, analyzing data and providing justifications.   
• Define reporting and alerting requirements with the required layout of the information.
• Develop and execute quality assurance plans including testing solution components to ensure they meet the business, integrated technology and cyber security needs as defined.
• Provide input to technology roadmap and refine Business Cases for technology needs; research and evaluate options, provide solution related financial estimates.
• Provide support and knowledge transfer to Business and IT teams, acting as a subject matter expert for complex L2/L3 support items specific to delivered solutions.
• Support the strategic initiatives of the corporation to realize LEAN improvements and promote good project management practices by reviewing business and system processes for continuous improvement adhering to LEAN best practices and methodology
• Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Skills and Qualifications

.

• 3 years progressive work experience in an Information Technology environment with a proven track record as a Business Analyst in requirements facilitation, process mapping, detailed specification development, and development and execution of quality assurance testing plans is required
• Post-secondary education with a degree/diploma in computer science or related discipline or Business Administration accompanied with education/experience in IT.
• Sound understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), software development, IT architecture, and IT hardware.
• Strong interpersonal, research, analytical, critical thinking, and negotiating skills with problem-solving ability supported by project management experience, team leadership and facilitation capabilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and interpret the meaning, purpose and importance of verbal and non-verbal messages.
• Experience working in the gtechna solution, roles of Municipal Parking support or Enforcement administration APS support are valuable background.
• Recommended certifications related to Business Analysis, such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Professional Business Analyst (PBA), Certified Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), etc. are strongly preferred.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 47.72 - $ 63.63
