Analyst/Developer - Python

Story Behind the Need:

• Business group: Asset Liability Management & Funds Transfer Pricing.
• Focus on the interest rate risk in the market.

Project: ALM FTP PLATFORM MODERNIZATION

• Automate and streamline all of the processes – The project is currently commencing.

Typical Day in Role:

• Coding based on the requirements of the team ( Senior manager in charge of IT initiatives)
• The main function of a Developer is to design, develop, and implement applications using general languages and technologies (e.g. –
• C#, C++, HTML, Python) to support business requirements.
• Analyze highly complex business requirements
• Generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
• Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
• Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
• Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
• Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 8-10+ years of experience with language or technology (e.g. – C#, C++, HTML, Python) mainly Python.
• 5-8 years of working experience within a financial institution
• Hands-on experience in designing, developing and successfully deploying large-scale projects from end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Banking Product knowledge or accounting/finance knowledge is an asset.

Soft Skills Required:

• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills (written and verbal)

Best VS. Average Candidate:

• The best candidate is someone with coding knowledge mainly Python and developer experience in any Canadian bank.

Education & Certificates:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or a related field required

Candidate review and selection:

• 1st Interview with senior managers (1-2 hours) – MS Teams Video Call:
o The manager will likely provide sample technical, coding tests, questions, and soft/skills questions.
• 2nd Interview potential w/peers and Hiring Manager (30 min) – MS Teams Video Call:
o Behavioural questions, get to know and introduction of the role.
