Position Overview

The Application Consultant is responsible for the implementation and upgrades of Sylogist applications and producing quality deliverables. The Application Consultant drives implementation and upgrades tasks while assisting the Project Manager with organizing and controlling tasks within the work plan. Additionally, this person will work with the customer in a collaborative manner to solve their business needs while managing the trade-offs between customer expectations and project objectives in a professional manner.

Responsibilities Include

  • Perform Sylogist systems configurations based on Sylogist's methodologies, best practices and an understanding of the customer’s business processes learned through requirements gathering and design and analysis. 
  • Perform supporting activities necessary to the overall success of the project such as data conversion, report creation, end user training, user acceptance and the creation of end-user documentation.
  • Exhibit strong leader abilities and collaboration with project managers to develop and manage to a project charter, schedule and supporting plan that might include providing status reports to the customer covering milestone achievement, budget vs. actual, risk identification and mitigation, and schedule/scope changes. 
  • Troubleshoot issues during implementation and upgrades, which may require escalation to our Support and/or Product Development teams.
  • Document functional and technical requirements for functionality that requires delivery via software customization to meet the customer’s need.
  • Work with Development to ensure solutions are programmed to match processes defined in the design and a quality solution is delivered to the customer. 
  • Manage communication of priorities and risks with the implementation team.
  • As needed, support business development with requirements analysis, demonstrations, responses to RFP's, estimates and proposal preparation.
  • Work closely with and take direction from the Project Manager and Director of Customer Care. 
  • Work closely with and take direction from the Principal Consultant on international projects.
  • Report into the Professional Services Manager

What We Look For in You

Must-haves

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software implementations with a working knowledge of computer networks is required.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills complimenting your ability to assist the customer with change management
  • Experience with Serenic Navigator or Microsoft Dynamics NAV is required.
  • Must possess excellent time management and personal organization skills with efficient, disciplined work habits to ensure successful handling of multiple projects in progress simultaneously.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills and Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel, are required.
  • Some travel is required, both domestically and internationally, so you should have a passport.

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting, business practices, and processes required with specific knowledge/experience in fund accounting a strong plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred
