Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Application Engineer specializing in HVAC, noise, and vibration isolation systems to join our team at Vibro Acoustics by Swegon. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and industry knowledge to support our clients in the design, selection, and implementation of customized solutions that address their unique requirements and challenges for different HVAC applications.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Consultation:

  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Acoustical consultants and Manufacturer’s Representatives regarding HVAC systems, noise control and vibration isolation applications.
  • Make rapport and work closely with Mechanical Engineers to provide application engineering services for noise and vibration control solutions.
  • Provide Technical guidance and recommendations while generating lay-in documents (internal process) and communicate requirements to the Mechanical Engineer and reps all over North America.

System Design and Engineering:

  • Utilize company’s CPQ software and tools to design different noise and vibration isolation solutions by following ASHRAE guidelines.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and performance criteria to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform acoustical and vibration isolation analysis to optimize system performance and mitigate noise and vibration issues.

Solution Selection and Integration:

Evaluate and select appropriate solutions, materials, and components for noise control, vibration isolation for different HVAC applications.

Coordinate with reps while quoting the solutions as per the bidding documents and ensure compatibility with project specifications.

Working with the VA team internally:

  • Work with the Application Engineering Manager and Regional Sales Managers to develop project bid strategies and negotiation of orders.
  • Prepare Quotes and firm pricing with detailed scope of supply notes as per project requirements.
  • Work with the Application engineering and Project management team in delivering great service to the reps, mechanical and acoustical consultants.

Technical Training and Documentation:

  • Participate in training sessions and events on noise control solution, system approach, vibration isolation techniques, and HVAC system optimization.
  • Prepare technical documentation, follow training sessions to work on different solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Acoustical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in application engineering, HVAC design, noise control, or vibration isolation.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, acoustics, noise and vibration control principles, and relevant industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, ASTM).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
