As a Backend Cloud Sr. Developer, you will pioneer the digital landscape in a remote and contract role, collaborating with a dynamic team committed to delivering unparalleled digital experiences. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and frameworks, you'll shape the future of cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes, implementing Kubernetes concepts for efficient deployment and management.

• Design and implement RESTful and gRPC-based APIs following OpenAPI specifications.

• Utilize Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate deployment and scaling processes.

• Architect and develop applications within the SpringBoot ecosystem, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.

• Implement comprehensive testing strategies, including unit, integration, and performance testing.

• Integrate with TELUS Identity Provider (SSO) and ensure application security through role-based access control and data encryption.

• Design and implement Event-Driven Architecture leveraging Google Cloud Pub/Sub and other GCP services.

• Collaborate with UI developers to ensure seamless frontend-backend integration.

Qualifications and Skills

• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and YAML configuration files.

• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Unix Shell Scripting.

• Strong understanding of the SpringBoot ecosystem, including Spring Cloud, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Experience in application security and integration with identity providers.

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture patterns and Google Cloud Pub/Sub.

• Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for UI development.

• Proficiency in deploying and managing Java applications on various application servers.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies independently.

• Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL and Oracle.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, specifically Firestore.

• Understanding of data modeling and schema design principles.

• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and prototyping tools.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
