Bakery Manager

Overview: Fresh Market Foods is seeking an experienced and dynamic Advanced Bakery Manager to lead our bakery department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bakery operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality bakery products.

Responsibilitie s:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals, including sales targets, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
• Product Development: Collaborate with the bakery team to create innovative and high-quality bakery products that meet customer demands and market trends.
• Inventory Managemen t: Oversee inventory control processes, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction, to optimize product availability and minimize losses.
• Quality Assurance : Ensure that all bakery products meet the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and maintaining a clean and inviting bakery environment.
• Training and Development : Develop and deliver training programs for bakery staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in baking techniques, customer service, and safety protocols, ensuring regular WHMIS training, health and safety reviews, and maintenance of safety data sheets (SDS).
• Technology: Utilize email, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and project management software for effective communication and project management; use Dayforce for scheduling, tracking employee time, and ensuring accurate payroll processing in the Bakery department.
• Financial Management: Assist in managing departmental budgets, analyzing financial reports, and implementing cost-saving measures to maximize profitability.

Qualifications and Skills: 

• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong leadership and communication skills.
• 2-3 years of previous supervisory or managerial experience in a bakery industry or retail environment, with excellent customer service abilities.
• Proficient in bakery operations, including product knowledge, inventory management, and customer service is an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work varying shifts to support the needs of the department and staff

Terms of Employment: Full-time, including weekends and holidays

Wage/Salary: $25.00 – $30.00 per/hour (depending on experience)
