Job Details Salary range/Wage range: $36.14 - $44.85 hourly Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day Primary location: CASA Centre Union: In-scope Classification: Unit Lead FTE: 1.00 Status: Permanent About The Role The Children's Day Program provides group, family and individual therapy while also providing education in a small classroom setting. Children are encouraged to strengthen their existing abilities and develop new skills. Areas of focus include social skills, academic functioning and emotional and sensory awareness. Children attend the program daily during the school year. The Behavioral Specialist will: Develop and assist with implementation of individual treatment plans, behavioral plans and/or safety plans for children with internalizing and externalizing difficulties using a variety of treatment approaches with a heavy emphasis on effective, evidence-based cognitive and behavioral principles. Implement therapeutic models of individual, group and family therapy. Provide leadership and direction to a team of Therapy Support Assistants. Manage the daily staff schedule, including delegating task assignments, caseload and assigning breaks. Participate in program planning. Attend and constructively participate in program and clinical team meetings, and monitor the follow up/action items required of Therapy Support Assistants. Ensure open reporting about patient safety events including near misses or concerns. Do everything reasonable to protect the health and safety of staff and physicians. Qualifications Master's degree in a behavioral science program psychology, education or social work; with Board-Certified Behavior Analyst certification. OR in the process of acquiring hours towards BCBA certification with 2 years applied behavioral analysis or related experience in an education or mental health setting. Behavioral Interventions Certificate of Achievement (BICA) Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Experience with mood concerns, learning disabilities, executive dysfunction, and/or personality disorder traits is preferred. Previous leadership experience is an asset. Conditions of Employment A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate. A satisfactory Child Intervention Check. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground. Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
