The successful candidate will support student’s mental health by fostering personal and academic coping skills and will be forward thinking, provide clear direction, demonstrate curiosity, be innovative, build strong relationships, and contribute to the development of people, teams, and our culture of excellence.

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

 

• Provide mental health support to students requiring counselling to address barriers to success using College of Alberta Psychologist standards of practice and trauma informed psychosocial interventions and crisis counselling.
• Provide in-person and virtual crisis and drop-in counselling to at-risk students
• Actively participate as part of a multidisciplinary Wellness Team, to ensure best practices and student safety.
• Participate and/or lead Wellness Team mental health initiatives and projects that support NorQuest students.
• Provide classroom presentations on mental health topics.
• Participate in transition to employment admission processes by reviewing psychoeducational assessment and admission candidates.
• Collaborate with other areas of the College in order to support student mental health.
• Interpret psychoeducational assessments and functional impacts.
• Work with online processes and file management systems.
• Develop and deliver resources in a multidisciplinary setting
• Establish and maintain a network of contacts with community resources.
• Provide training on supporting individuals impacted by sexual violence.
• Foster collaborative, positive working relationships with colleagues on a team, in a diverse working environment.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

 

• Master’s in Counselling Psychology, Master’s in Educational Psychology or Graduate Degree in Counseling Psychology, Educational Psychology or Clinical Social Work.
• Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists or Alberta College of Social Workers.
• Telehealth Training Certificate.
• 5+ years of experience, ideally in a post-secondary education environment.

SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a Faculty role and therefore the pay range is quite large. The Faculty Association agreement outlines how pay is determined.
This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great benefits and pension programs.

 

This role will require regular on-campus work at our downtown Edmonton campus.
