Developer - Cloud

• Business group: Canadian Digital Banking – Engineering – Global Engineering team as part of Information Technology and Solutions international team, is responsible for supporting and delivering system solutions to each of our core business lines.

• We are looking for a Technical Lead to join our team to help move forward our strategy and vision.
• Project: Three backend developers for Atlas Migration project – Atlas cloud migration – application that is currently build and hosted in CDP if being migrated to Google (GCP) – project has not started yet, these developers will be working on initial phases /kick-off and ideally seeing through to the end – specifically working on a platform for global commercial and corporate online banking – client Connect 2.0

• Proficient in knowledge of technologies and processes like Agile Software Delivery, XP practices, DevOps culture and Cloud Native Technologies.

• Encourages a customer-centric culture to strengthen connections with clients and tap into wider Bank relationships, systems, and expertise.
• Provides technical direction leveraging team input and users’ feedback.
• Assists in developing coding standards and better testing approaches.
• Collaborates with the Software Architecture group to realize their technical vision and direction.
• Considered an expert in a technical domain and is highly regarded for their technical competence.
• Provides expert advice and counsel to key stakeholders on development project teams on complex issues.
• Capable of facilitating Agile ceremonies such as planning, grooming, retro, demo, and scrums
• Be inclusive by inviting, maintaining and empowering our global development community through inner-source practices.
• Lead design, automation, testability of CI/CD components improvements to enhance team velocity.
• Contribute clean, tested, reusable and maintainable code to a shared codebase implementing solutions designed by the team.
• Encourages team code quality to be the best as possible continuously coaching teammates to acquire the best practices.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 10+ years of experience as a developer
• 5+ years recent API/Web Development Experience: NodeJS, JavaScript/ES6+, HTML/CSS, React
• 5+ years’ experience with Application Servers, Banking systems and their integration, Web Services, REST, Microservices, SpringBoot, Java 11+
• 5+ years’ experience working with Cloud Services: Azure, GCP, or AWS

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Experience from banking industry/financial services – specifically with global payments and/or cash management an asset
• Experience applying Design Patterns and Best Engineering Practices.
• Experience with TDD, ATDD, BDD or any other test practice.
• Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Shell script, Jenkins, CI/CD

Soft Skills Required:

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build and foster relationships with business partners, project stakeholders, strategic technology partners and external vendors.
• Maintain continuous improvement behaviour and commitment to expand set of skills.

Education:

• Computer Science degree from a university or college, or equivalent experience

• 2 rounds – MS Teams video Interviews – potential 3rd – 1 hour each, TBD closer to interviews
o 1st round – with senior engineer and solutions architect
o 2nd round – with HM and potential panel
