Logistics Coordinator

Description Robert Half is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our client for a CONTRACT position based in Brantford, ON. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the movement of goods, ensuring efficiency and timeliness in delivery while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the transportation of goods from suppliers to warehouses or directly to customers, ensuring timely delivery.
• Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and customers to schedule shipments and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Track shipments and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and delivery schedules.
• Optimize transportation routes and methods to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements, including customs regulations, safety standards, and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as procurement, warehouse, and sales to coordinate logistics activities and meet customer requirements.
• Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
• Handle any logistics-related inquiries or complaints from customers or partners in a professional and timely manner.
• Stay informed about industry trends, developments, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in logistics coordination, preferably in a similar industry or environment.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and supply chain management principles.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in logistics software and tools for tracking and managing shipments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
