Job Description - *Procurement Specialist

Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist in the mining and metal industry, you will provide crucial support to the Strategic Sourcing Manager on strategic sourcing projects. Your contributions will help deliver commercially favorable contracts and optimal value to the business unit.

What is in it for you:

• Hourly salary of $40 to $50, based on experience.

• 12-month contract with an expected extension to 18 months.

• Full-time position: 35 hours per week.

• Hybrid work: 2 days per week at the office.

• Travel: 15-20% within North America.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Category Manager in developing category strategies and executing the sourcing plan outlined in the strategy.

• Conduct regular reviews with key internal stakeholders, update and adjust the Category Strategy and Sourcing Plan, draft and execute contracts, engage in commercial negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and oversee supply chain management.

• Develop and implement comprehensive Category Management strategies and Supply Agreements to minimize total cost of ownership and maximize value, adhering to governance requirements.

• Execute Commercial Strategies and Sourcing plans, leading key or complex sourcing projects/negotiations and managing ongoing contracts and supplier relationships.

• Support the category specialist with data-driven requests, including reports, Power BI and data analysis, troubleshooting supplier concerns, bidding events, and updating price agreements.

• Consolidate internal customers' demand requirements and consumption trends to develop category strategies and related sourcing programs.

• Conduct in-depth market analysis to capture external market dynamics for category strategy and sourcing program development.

• Build supplier negotiation plans, support, and lead negotiations.

• Drive productivity projects with key stakeholders and suppliers.

• Ensure all projects are delivered using Ariba and other software platforms, meeting the requirements outlined in the client's procurement policies, standards, and guidelines.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports required by internal stakeholders.

What you will need to succeed:

• Bachelor's Degree (not mandatory).

• 2 years of experience with SAP.

• 2 years of experience with Power BI.

• 2 years of experience as a Procurement Specialist.

• Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
