Faculty of Nursing

The Faculty of Nursing at UNB supports health and wellbeing throughout New Brunswick through research, education, and service. This position will be situated within a research team in the Faculty that is focused on supporting the TRC Calls to Action through meaningful Indigenous engagement and partnerships.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week

Salary Range: $54.358 - $70,665 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, The Project Manager (PM) will play a pivotal role in the implementation and success of the "Our Health Counts New Brunswick" project. Our Health Counts is an innovative research model designed to fill a gap in urban Indigenous population health data and better inform service design and policy development. The model will be implemented in Fredericton and Saint John in collaboration with Indigenous community partners. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the project's day-to-day operations, coordinating with team members and stakeholders, and ensuring the project's objectives are met within the specified timelines and budget.

  • Oversee project's day to day operations.
  • Ensure effective implementation of work packages.
  • Develop governance protocols to guide project operations.
  • Coordinate project gatherings and research meetings.
  • Ensure the project complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and ethical guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including Indigenous community partners, academic collaborators, funding bodies, and others.
  • Lead the recruitment and supervision of project staff.
  • Coordinate training sessions for the research team, staff and stakeholders, including OCAP (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession) training, health data workshops, and OHC processes training.
  • Oversee the development of a data management plan, facilitate team training, and ensure the collection, analysis, and storage of project data in accordance with established protocols.
  • Develop and monitor the project budget, including tracking expenditures, forecasting costs, and ensuring the project remains within financial constraints.
  • Identify and draft applications for additional funding opportunities.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of project websites and social media channels, coordinate community reporting, and manage the drafting and approval of final reports.
  • Facilitate conference presentations, research manuscript submissions, and translation of results within community settings.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree in Public Health, Nursing, Indigenous Studies or a related field.
  • 3 years of project management experience, including financial management. This includes experience project management of community health research or similar and experience working with indigenous or other equity-deserving stakeholder.
