Geologist

Job Title: Geologist : RQ 24-22 : Are you interested in being part of a team that believes in the pursuit of excellence, conducting work in a safe and sustainable manner and being courageous and creative in everything we do? TAQA North is currently searching for a Geologist. Reporting to the Asset Manager, Central East, you will join a multi-disciplinary asset team. The Central East Asset is currently drilling multi-well pads with a dedicated rig line for 2024. You and your team will optimize development drills through the integration of geological concepts, RE interpretations and completions design. You will extend existing project concepts within TAQA North’s Central acreage holdings and identify areas that are under exploited keying off other industry activity to identify low risk play concepts. This position is based out of the Calgary downtown office. Your Key Responsibilities: You will provide support to the asset team by:

• Identifying drilling prospects to support development, grow production and replace reserves
• Developing comprehensive subsurface interpretations integrating geological, geophysical, petrophysical and reservoir engineering data to determine optimal well design
• Supporting economic evaluations through the assessment of subsurface risk and uncertainty
• Support the Operational Geologist with integrated geological interpretations throughout the drill execution
• Providing technical analysis in support of land and property acquisitions and divestitures, farm-in/farm-out opportunities, continuation packages and operated/non-operated drilling proposals
• Supporting and contributing to ongoing reserves evaluations, audits, and assessments

Your Qualifications:

• Professional Geologist (APEGA) with 3-8 years of progressive experience
• Experience working western Canadian plays (conventional/unconventional)
• An excellent communicator across multiple disciplines and with all levels of management
• Understand the need for value creation and identifying/progressing new opportunities
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated, team player with strong organizational and technical skills
• Creative individual with a desire to innovate and execute on new ideas as well as continuously learn and develop their own skills.
• Experience working with: Accumap, Petrel and Microsoft Office products
• Willing to learn and utilize new software (specifically Petrel).
