Role Responsibilities

If so, the ministry of Technology and Innovation has the perfect opportunity for you in our Testing Analyst role.

As our Testing Analyst, you will provide quality assurance, user acceptance testing and test environment management, application security and privacy, system integration and performance testing, and 1GX controls framework testing. The position working in collaboration with the 1GX stakeholder community to ensure that business needs are considered, issues are addressed, and complex problems are resolved.

The responsibilities of these role include:

  • Perform testing and quality assurance to ensure existing 1GX functionality is maintained and effectively utilized.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed testing plans to meet program objectives and user needs.
  • Develop systems test strategies, plans, and detailed scripts for project and operational use, collaborating with Accenture.
  • Support stakeholders (1GX users, Business Community, Service Managers) to identify business impacts and ensure needs are met.
  • Solicit feedback and promote an agile, innovative, and collaborative transformation experience.
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve issues related to engagement, adoption, sustainment, and improvement.
  • Promote best practices in security and privacy of personal information and data.
  • Support the FIN/SCM and HCM/Payroll Managers and Excellence teams in testing issue resolution.
  • Provide metrics to the Team Lead and Manager, 1GX Technology Excellence.
  • Notify relevant teams of significant trends indicating major issues or failures.
  • Advise and support the Manager, 1GX Technology Excellence with briefings, responses, and recommendations.

Qualifications

Requirements:
University graduation in a related field (such as commerce); no experience required; or diploma in a related field and a minimum 2 years of related work experience; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency : Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.


Assets:

  • Experience in SAP / S4 Hana or other ERP applications such as SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, Kyriba, OpenText, etc. as listed below.
  • Experience in the business domain within the relevant stream and of the business processes and practices within the stream (HCM, Payroll & Benefits, Finance and/or Supply Chain Management - SCM)

Knowledge of and/or awareness of where to find the knowledge is considered an asset:

  • SCM

o Knowledge of public sector procurement practices/frameworks
o Technical knowledge and experience in Ariba and S4 HANA

  • Finance

o Technical knowledge and experience in one or more of the following SAP/S4 HANA Modules: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Projects, Budget Planning and Forecasting.
o Technical knowledge and experience in Concur
o Knowledge/Awareness of Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)

  • Treasury

o Technical knowledge and experience in Kyriba
o Knowledge/awareness of Canadian Banking Standards

  • Human Capital Management

o Technical knowledge and experience in SuccessFactors and S4 HANA
o Knowledge/awareness of human resource practices and principles

  • Payroll and Benefits

o Technical knowledge and experience in SuccessFactors and S4 HANA
o Knowledge/awareness of Canadian payroll practices and concepts

  • Experience in project management principles, methodologies, processes, and best practices
  • Experience in system design, including business process requirements with consideration for cost, audit requirements and practicality
  • Experience in a large, public sector environment
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional designation
  • Project Management Professional designation
