Job Description - Software Developer

Temporary Full Time The Software Developer Student will participate in all aspects of software development and maintenance within the Individual Customer business unit.   Role Description You will join the Individual Customer business unit as a Software Developer to support, troubleshoot and maintain software for a variety of systems using mature and new technologies. You will work on the BYOPC (“Bring Your Own PC”) Application Support team. The Work:
  • Providing second level support for Bring Your Own PC technical support calls
  • Working within a dynamic team to support, maintain and troubleshoot various software applications
  • Opportunities may include tasks such as design, develop, integrate, test, transition to production and maintain software applications
  • Collaborate among various functional teams, with Business Systems Analysts and Solutions Architects
  • Contribute to the elimination of problems through permanent fixes including the identification of solutions, scoping the work, and executing the changes
  • Provide production support, application monitoring and tuning for applications
  • Deliver meaningful real-time results by troubleshooting application issues

Requirements:
  • A degree in Programming or Information Systems diploma in a related IT discipline
  • Knowledge of the following applications and languages – ServiceNow, SQL for DB2, VB.net
  • Experience triaging issues with:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Networking
  • Printing
  • Hardware (laptops, desktops, and peripherals)
  • Mobile (wifi connectivity issues on Android and IOS environments)
  • Windows 10 and Mac OS operating systems
  • Experience updating and creating documentation for technical issues and how-to’s
  • Asset to have experience with:
  • IBM z/OS
  • JCL
  • COBOL
  • IBM Data Studio
  • Control-M
  • Unix Scripting
  • Java
  • MoveIT
  • VB6
  • Experience with software development tools, such as:
  • Software Version Control – SVN, Git
  • Integrated Development Environments (IDE) – MS Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.
  • Collaboration tools – Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Slack, Teams
The base salary for this position is between $41,400- $62,100 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
