The Drug Team develops and supports mission critical components that support the adjudication processing for approximately 400-500k pharmacy claims transactions across Canada per day. Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

As Sr COBOL Developer for TELUS Health, you will provide guidance in architecting and developing new and evolving solutions for the data integration layer of the TELUS Drug Adjudication system. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the ongoing client data integration requirements. You will spearhead development to employ best practices. You will innovate using the latest frameworks, languages and tools that comprise this critical component of the TELUS Drug Adjudication system.

Here’s how
• Developing components, by following established process, that support Drug Claims Adjudication
• Work closely with other development and Architecture teams
• Engaging in regular, ongoing, collaborative interaction with the business and other stakeholders to understand the business impact of proposed changes
• Providing support to resolve issues that arise in all environments
• Taking ownership of multiple assignments within a project and produce high quality deliverables according to established milestones, budget and scope.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Provide off business hours Pager Support on a Rotational basis

• Valued for your 8-10 years of experience in a development role
• Passionate about process improvement and change management
• Expert in the following framework/technologies
o Enscribe Database
o COBOL
o Unix (operating system), Shell Scripting (operating system)
o SDLC
o Java, JavaScript
o Weblogic
o Web Service
o Oracle Database experience
o SQLMX
o Source Code Management with GIT, Multi-threaded applications
o Automated Build and Testing Tools such as Jenkins, Selenium, Pycharm, Cucumber

• Composed and poised when dealing with complex investigations/debugging reviews, with a proven ability to drive to root cause and resolution

• Experience with NonStop and Enscribe
