We have a proud history of mining in Manitoba. Our operations in Thompson, with two operating mines, is located in the awe-inspiring heart of the northern boreal region. It has a strong future in mining and milling, with an ongoing mission to grow as a safe, prosperous, and sustainable nickel producer.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Analyst Material Controller to join our Inventory management team. This is a permanent position and located in Thompson, MB.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to determine accurate inventory parameters, be responsible for making improvements, recommendations, problem solving, planning, and prioritizing work with specific deadlines, coordinating tasks and activates with other departments, and replenishing warehouse inventories. The incumbent will provide ongoing support to warehousing, procurement and operations coordinate initiatives and provide an excellent standard of service that will meet the needs of the business.

The roles accountabilities will include:

  • Creating and Maintaining KPI reports related to inventory management and warehouse inventory levels.
  • Item Creation, working with the Klassmatt Team and operations to generate and assign new item master codes.
  • Planning for future inventory requirements; looking forward to anticipating inventory demand anomalies and adjust inventory levels as required. This will require close working relationship with operational areas.
  • Independent Scenario analysis; evaluate outputs recommend and communicate alternatives. Accuracy and understanding of the data and underlying issues are important factors in making the correct decisions as changes may impact operations.
  • Set inventory parameters; based on analysis and recommendations.
  • System maintenance; stock code criteria, changes/updates.
  • Warehouse Replenishment based on set parameters, taking into consideration anomalies and simulation analysis.
  • Work with operations to analyze inventory and identify obsolete material, complete non-moving reviews, criticality reviews, and other coordinated initiatives.
  • Investigate inventory replenishment issues identifying gaps and developing strategies to implement new processes, controls, or tools, considering each plants unique inventory requirements.
  • Maintain alignment with Procurement, Warehousing and Operational Partnerships, build collaborative efforts involving all stakeholders.

About You

Education :

  • Minimum of college Diploma is required.

Preferred Certification:

  • CITT; P. Log

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of related experience
  • Experience with negotiating, collaboration, and gaining consensus.
  • Supply Chain background.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong comprehension of Supply Chain and Inventory Management.
  • Strong Inventory process and control knowledge.
  • Physical Effort - walking in warehouses; visiting mine sites and plants to observe inventory practices and ensure policies are followed.
