Job Description:

TD Securities ("TDS") provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and financial institution ("FI") clients through Global Transaction Banking ("GTB"), Corporate and Investment Banking ("CIB"), and Global Markets ("GM"). The firm works with clients around the world, focusing selectively and strategically on key global financial centers: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, New York, London, Singapore, and Tokyo.

GTB is comprised of four business lines: Global Trade Finance ("GTF"), Corporate Cash Management ("CCM"), Financial Institutions ("FI"), and Export and Agency Finance ("EAF").

Job Summary

TDS has embarked on a multi-year digital transformation and expansion of GTB's product suite to position the transaction bank as a leading North American multi-currency treasury provider, enabling significant business growth across the TDS franchise. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the build-out of the next-generation of GTB's transaction banking capabilities to (i) extend a highly successful GTB business into the US; and (ii) to future-proof the business with a platform that can evolve at minimal cost as client and industry needs & expectations continue to evolve.

This is an Associate (Sr. Data Analyst) role with responsibility for leading business requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project and technical execution of delivery working with multiple transaction banking capabilities.

GTB is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Data Analyst who can also perform duties as a Business Analyst when required. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills pertaining to Data Analysis, along with the ability to understand and document business requirements, design solutions, and act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean and interpret datasets from a wide variety of sources/formats to derive actionable insights.
  • Develop, maintain, and automate reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Perform advanced data analysis and statistical data modelling to support business decision-making.
  • Automate manual processes and implement creative solutions to help the business move forward.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and other teams to design and implement data solutions.
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with multiple business stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of needs and translate them into requirements.
  • Document business requirements in an iterative methodology leveraging Agile techniques such as journey mapping, user stories, story maps, and process mapping, using Agile tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with functional data teams, various technology groups and other stakeholders to ensure high quality delivery in line with the business requirements.
  • Understand internal and external data governance principles and define effective processes and controls to manage risk.
  • Champion an intelligence culture that empowers the organization to evaluate client needs, market trends, competitor movements, and determine GTB's actions & priorities.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Strong technical skills – Python, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Alteryx, Tableau Prep.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes and data warehousing.
  • Strong foundation of cloud fundamentals, pipelines considered a huge asset.
  • Understand high level architecture and technology such as cloud, API's, microservices, domain-driven design, data, and event modelling principles/techniques.
  • Background of working with data governance.
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies and working on large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written); able to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with ability to impact and influence other stakeholders.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environment with strong prioritization skills.
  • Results-oriented self-starter with ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to manage ambiguous or unclear situations while demonstrating delivery excellence under tight timelines.
  • Deep passion to create and lead meaningful change.
  • Proficient in Jira and Confluence, leading Sprints.

Nice to Have

  • Relevant transaction banking experience at a large financial institution.
  • Cloud / BI Certifications like Microsoft AZ-900, Tableau Desktop Specialist, PL-300
  • Hands-on Machine Learning experience
