POSITION TITLE: MATERIAL HANDLER

STATUS: FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE APRIL 2025)
WAGE RATE: $24.909 - $25.530

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, the Material Handler’s primary duties are to complete shipping and receiving, warehousing/inventory control, replenish medical/surgical supplies for all departments within all hospitals throughout the corporation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Successful Completion of High School Diploma
• Transportation of Hazardous Goods Handling certification*
• Forklift certification*
• Demonstrated essential computer literacy skills: ability to perform common application functions (to be tested)
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Outlook – ability to utilize all aspects (to be tested)
• Thorough knowledge of warehouse processes and healthcare products (to be tested)
• Ability to adapt within a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to multitask efficiently
• Ability to correctly lift and carry with proper technique of items weighing up to 40lbs (to be tested)
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Good problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team approach
• Availability to work shift and weekends
• Ability to travel and work at all sites; must possess valid Ontario driver’s license (minimum G class) with appropriate vehicle insurance
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred

• Experience with Materiel Management Database software, Medisolutions formerly Ormed
• One year recent experience in warehousing environment
