The Branch allows ministries to meet essential and complex program goals, by leading or facilitating cost effective procurement in a fair and equitable manner, in alignment with national & international trade agreements and provincial legislation. Procurement Services has responsibilities for GoA corporate purchasing, warehousing services, surplus sales, inter-provincial trade, vendor relationship management, corporate card program management, and category management. Reporting to the Category Manager in the Procurement Services Branch under the Financial and Administrative Shared Services Division, the Senior Training Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the Procurement Services Branch and the Category Management Program by designing, implementing, and overseeing innovative training initiatives. They are responsible for assessing training needs, developing learning/e-learning materials, and delivering engaging training sessions to enhance the capabilities of the program team members and stakeholders across the organization. A professional demeanor and strong communication skills are required to liaise with executive leadership on sensitive topics, and to maintain stakeholder relationships. Maintaining positive and productive working relationships in these dynamic situations is vital to the success of the unit.

From conducting comprehensive training needs assessments to delivering engaging training sessions, your innovative approach will drive the success of our training initiatives. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to evaluate curated learning content and programming to assess it for suitability and effectiveness against learning and development objectives. To be Successful in this position you will demonstrate: Proven Expertise in Training and Development: Demonstrated ability to design and implement large-scale training and development programs that effectively address organizational needs and objectives.
Innovative Content Development: Proven ability to develop engaging training materials in creative and innovative ways, ensuring learner interest and participation. Utilizes diverse instructional design techniques and multimedia resources to create dynamic learning experiences that captivate learners and facilitate skill acquisition.
Collaborative Teamwork: Strong track record of collaborating on cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality training solutions within critical, time-sensitive deadlines. Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, encompassing active listening, written and verbal communication, and conflict resolution. Ability to foster positive relationships and manage interactions with tact and discretion.
Accessibility Awareness: Understanding of accessibility considerations for learners with disabilities, ensuring training materials and delivery methods are inclusive and accessible to all.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of training development and delivery.
Systems Training Expertise: Experience in executing on systems training best practices, with a focus on optimizing learning experiences within technological platforms.

Qualifications

Required:
• University graduation in a related field such as Adult Education, Instructional Design, Business Administration.
• 4 years of progressively responsible related experience in developing training programs and instructional design. Equivalencies: Equivalencies are considered on the basis of:
• One year of experience for one year of education or
• One year of education for one year of experience. Assets:
• Certification in Instructional Design.
• Solid understanding of the principles of adult education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of training needs analyses and competency development frameworks.
• Professional experience in learning and development.
• Advanced level proficiency with MS Office Tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other related training software to develop training resources.
• Experience with ERP systems and applications such as SAP.
