What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• provide systems analysis, design, development, and testing expertise for a variety of business intelligence and data analytics projects undertaken by the unit
• perform maintenance and operational support work for business intelligence and data analytics applications currently in production
• use your technical and business expertise to address technical issues and business enquires from end-users
• ensure the required standards of quality are met by the incoming data which is loaded in our data repositories
• work closely with the business clients as to collect requirements in terms of both standard and self-serve reporting
• perform unit testing and system testing tasks at data and application level
• develop application operation, maintenance and support documentation

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge

• You have experience using Business Intelligence/Reporting/Data Visualization tools (such as IBM Cognos)
• You have experience in data and business modeling in general, with particular focus on building dimensional models used in data warehousing
• You have demonstrated knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, experience using SQL, PL/SQL (or equivalent)
• You have knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies (such Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services)
• You have demonstrated knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) covering systems analysis, design, development and testing methods related to Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) solutions.
• You have experience working with Operating Systems such as Linux and Windows

Analytical Skills and Problem-Solving Skills

• You can identify issues, conduct research, analyze business and system requirements, and review technical documents
• You can assess IT options for clients and recommend cost-effective solutions

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You have oral and written communication skills to explain detailed technical information and make recommendations
• You can provide detailed clarification and information to technical and non-technical staff
• You have interpersonal skills to deal with complaints, provide clarification and secure consensus for a course of action
